Blog Tour

Welcome to Much a-Do About Stamping! Are you hopping along with the llamas? If so, you probably came here from Debbie's blog. If not, you can go back and check it out at Clever and Cute. She and I are featuring products from the 2011 Holiday Mini catalog.

I would love to have almost everything in the catalog, but since I couldn't do that for my first order I concentrated on all the stocking themed products.

I was so excited to get my first batch of wonderful Stampin' Up fabric that I decided to start with a Christmas t-shirt for my niece. I made customized t-shirts a long time ago (when my sons were young) but Stampin' Up's coordinating fabrics, dies and accessories make it sew easy. Of course, this project was mostly no-sew - thanks to the Big Shot Fabric Adhesive Roll - until I decided to add a skirt and make the t-shirt into a dress. If you're going to try something like this, don't forget to pre-wash the t-shirt and fabric before you start.

My next project is what really got me excited about the Stocking Die. Last year I drew my own patterns and cut out paper to make stocking gift card holders. Stampin' Up must have been reading my mind because I kept thinking how nice it would be to have a die to do all the cutting for me. I think many people in my family will be receiving gifts in these cute little stockings that come together in no time at all!

I used sticky strip to join the front and back stocking shapes. I put the gift card in position while I was laying the tape make sure the card would fit between the strips. Note that the stocking is not quite wide enough to run tape all along the side of the card.

Dazzling Details added for sparkle!
Recipe: Dear Santa Stamp Set, Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink Pad, Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker, Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper, Whisper White cardstock, Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die, Stocking Accents Originals Die, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (for the berries), Winter Wishes Stitched Felt, Snow Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Dazzling Details, Sticky Strip, Multipurpose Liquid Glue (I like this glue best for attaching embossed cardstock).

Thanks for visiting with me. If you've been following the hop from the beginning I'm sorry to say this is the last stop on the tour. The "next" link will take you back to Stephanie's blog where you can start your journey all over again! I hope you had fun and found some inspiration - we all thank you for joining us on our debut hop!

Hello!

Welcome to my blog! I'm trying my hand at this for the express purpose of participating in the awesome, never-before-seen LLAMA blog hop. The llamas are a great bunch of ladies who met online and have become best friends - even though many of us have never seen each other face to face. We come from all over the country and all different walks of life - but we started with one thing in common; we love stamping and especially Stampin' Up!
